Description
The Byford Rail Extension Stage 2 (BRE2) Project is a vital element of the Byford Rail Extension (BRE), itself a key part of the broader METRONET initiative. BRE have delivered new signalling and communications infrastructure to enable urban, electrified rail services to operate to the new Byford station.
These works will extends the signalling and communication infrastructure between Byford (Chainage 37.900km) and Mundijong (Chainage 44.510km), enabling regional rail services and the removal of life expired signalling equipment that exists on this section of the railway and extend the Digital Radio Network to the boundary connection between the regional and urban rail networks.. These works will be managed by the PTA Project Delivery (PPD) and extends across two operational jurisdictions:
PTA Territory: CH 37.897km to CH 42.100km
ARC Territory: CH 42.100km to CH 44.510km.
This project is time-critical to ensure that the recommencement of regional rail services is not delayed. The outcomes and requirements are clearly articulated in these Request for Tender documents, and a briefing will be held to ensure that Respondents understand the Public Transport Authority’s requirements.
The Contractor shall supply, construct, install, test, commission, and hand over (including Entry Into Service and Final Asset Acceptance) all required works for the Main Cable Route (MCR) from Byford Station to Mundijong Communications Equipment Room (CER).
The works are structured into three separable portions. Separable Portions are as follows.
I. Separable Portion 1: Works up to CH 42.200km
SP1 is the installation of the MCR and all associated cabling works up to chainage 42.200km. It includes all required interface works with the following infrastructure components:
Byford Signalling Equipment Room (SER)
Byford Station Main Communication Room (SMCR)
Track Side Equipment Room (TSER) A371
ACR397 (Mundijong North Radio Site)
II. Separable Portion 2: TSER A416
SP2 is the installation of TSER A416 (Free Issued by PTA), including all necessary works to make the infrastructure operational within PTA Territory, up to chainage 42.200km.
III. Separable Portion 3: From Ch 42.200km to Mundijong CER
SP3 is the installation of the MCR and all associated cabling works from chainage 42.200 to chainage 44.510. It also includes all required interface works with the following infrastructure components:
Mundijong Signalling Equipment Rooms (SER1 & SER2)
Mundijong CER
