This project will complement the new NSW Science Syllabus for Years 7-10 that is being introduced in 2026. The scope encompasses: Development of a series lesson plans and/or guides that embed critical minerals learning outcomes into the relevant Science and Geography (Stage 5) syllabus focus areas which could include energy, materials, states of matter, environmental sustainability and depth projects. Learning content will cover areas including critical minerals found in NSW, geological regions of NSW, exploration techniques, technologies, and sampling methods, extraction and liberation processes and environmental sustainability.Create supporting physical resources to enhance lesson delivery and accommodate learning diversity, such as posters, mineral kits, experiments and other shareable classroom tools.Digital and Web Based Content such as short videos, geological maps and visualisations and virtual tours (such as a mine site or exploration footage).Teacher professional development on critical minerals including explainers and fact sheets to guide lesson delivery and classroom application.A promotion strategy targeting heads of curriculum at schools and teachers to ensure schools know about the new resources, how to access them, and their relevance to the syllabus.
