Lower Murray Water
LMW Mildura West WTP - Treated Water Storage Recoat
Details
Description
Mildura’s urban water network is supplied from two water treatment plants, Mildura 7th street and Mildura West. The 18ML clear water storage at Mildura West WTP provides drinking water to townships of Mildura, Merbein, Cabarita and Birdwoodton.
The steel clearwater storage (50.5m diameter x 10m high) was constructed circa 2004 with periodically planned inspections carried out to ensure its operational functionality since commissioning. Previous inspections and assessments on coating, cathodic protection and floor plate thickness have identified the need to remove and replace the coating on the internal walls, floor, internal pipework, central column, and roof supports to ensure continued operability, maintain exceptional water quality and extend the asset life. Floor plate repairs and plinth seal repairs are also in the scope of works.
LMW propose to undertake recoating activities in winter 2025 (May/June/July).
The project will require tenderers to have experience and proven track record with recoating potable water storages.
