Live Termite Collection

This Request specifies Perth Zoo’s need for the collection of termites for a two (2) year period with three (3) extension options of one (1) year that may be exercised at the absolute discretion of Perth Zoo.
Perth Zoo will provide most of the equipment necessary to undertake termite collection, namely:
• Termite Drums and wood, plastic bags and water bottles for wetting down wood. (Drums will be replaced drum for drum as, and when they become unusable.)
Information on trapping methods and specific locations will be provided to the successful Respondent.
Perth Zoo needs a minimum supply of 4Kg of termites per week, particularly during the Numbat breeding period (Dec–March), in order to meet the dietary requirements of the Numbats and other animals at Perth Zoo, so reliable supply is critical at this time. This minimum quantity of termites required may increase if the number of Numbats in the breeding program increases or may extend in period should improved nutritional requirements of Numbats be requested.
