Wild dogs pose a critical threat to the viability of the SA sheep industry. Over the last decade, the impacts of wild dogs on the South Australian livestock industry dramatically increased.
In May 2019, the Commonwealth Government, State Government and industry committed to provide $25 million for the rebuild of the old sections of the Dog Fence, which is expected to take up to 5 years.
A range of materials are required to rebuild the fence. The procurement process will seek to source goods in a manner that provides maximum benefit to local busienss in South Australia and provides short and long-term investment and employment opportunities in regional communities.
