Provision of Legal Services Associated with Superannuation and Insurance Claims

The Public Trustee offers a range of fee-based community services accessible to all Western Australians. This includes managing the financial affairs, when appointed by the State Administrative Tribunal, of people who have been deemed incapable of managing their own (for example, due to dementia or intellectual disability) and who become clients of the Public Trustee.

Some clients have superannuation and insurance policies where (unknown to them, their family or the Public Trustee) full advantage has not been taken of benefits and entitlements arising because of their inability to keep working due to injury or illness. This needs to be corrected in the best interests of the client.

The Public Trustee seeks the services of a law practice to review client files to recommend and undertake any action required to claim for Total Permanent Disability, Terminal Illness, Death Benefit and/or income protection under a superannuation and/or insurance policy issued by any organisation in Australia.
