Description

OZ Minerals is scheduled to undertake a Greenfields construction of a 55km Western Access Road to support the Carrapateena Operation.

The scope of work includes:
- Bulk earthworks;
- Granular pavement construction;
- Detailed drainage and earthworks, including scour protection;
- Insitu concrete construction of floodway drainage structures;
- Mechanical protection of existing in-ground third party assets;
- Establishment of a DPTI standard intersection at the Stuart Highway; and
- Supply and establishment of infrastructure to support construction activities.

With detailed design well-advanced, it is anticipated that initial market enquiries will be called October 2019, with construction scheduled to commence in January 2020.

Carrapateena produces copper concentrate and is one of the largest mining projects in South Australia in the last decade. The Carrapateena Operation is located 472 kilometers north-west of Adelaide, South Australia and is located on the traditional land of the Kokatha people.

Prominent Hill produces one of the highest grades of copper concentrate in the world. The Prominent Hill Operation is located 650 kilometers north-west of Adelaide, South Australia, and is located on the traditional lands of the Antakirinja Matu-Yankunytjatjara people.
