WA Department of Environment Regulation
Right Bin Toolkit
Details
Description
The successful Contractor will work with the Customer to develop a toolkit of communication and engagement materials to be used by local governments participating in the 'Better Bins' program.
The Government’s $20 million Better Bins Program was established in 2014 to support local governments to introduce best practice kerbside collection systems. The Program offers funding to local governments to encourage the use of a three-bin system to support householders to separate waste and increase recycling. These systems use a red lid bin for general household waste, a yellow lid bin for recyclables and a lime-green lid bin primarily for garden waste and, in some places, food waste. Through consistent use of Australian Standard bin colours, the three bin system makes it easier for people to understand how to separate their waste at the source.
