WA South Metropolitan Health Service
FSH Robotic Surgery System - Ultrasonic Cleaning System
Details
Description
South Metropolitan Health Service has established a Robotic Surgery program, based at Fiona Stanley Hospital, to provide state-of-the-art healthcare to patients in the WA public health system. This system utilises dedicated surgical instruments design specifically for robotic surgery and which require specialised cleaning procedures to ensure that debris is removed from the mechanisms without causing damage to the instrument.
Fiona Stanley Hospital’s (FSH) Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) currently perform cleaning using manual techniques, which is laborious and risks damaging the instruments during cleaning and handling. Specific ultrasonic cleaning systems now include a cleaning cycle designed and validated for use with robotic surgical instruments.
SMHS has the requirement for an ultrasonic cleaning system with validated robotic surgical instrument cleaning cycle to enable for CSSD to meet the increasing demand for reprocessing of robotic surgical instruments.
