Technical Security Advisor

Commonwealth agencies are required to maintain an appropriate level of security protection for each agency’s functions, resources and information, as provided for in the Australian Government Protective Security Manual, the Australian Government Information Security Manual and ASIO (Australian Security Intelligence Organisation) directives.

The Tax Office has installed SCEC (Security Construction and Equipment Committee) endorsed Type 1 security alarm systems and equipment in the majority of sites with commercial grade security alarm systems installed at the remaining sites.It is an Australian Government and Tax Office requirement that the design, installation and integration requirements of high security Type I security systems and equipment installed in Tax Office premises are determined in consultation with and be supervised by a SCEC endorsed consultant, as an external and independent technical security advisor.

To ensure that a high level of security protection is maintained, the Tax Office proposes to engage a SCEC endorsed service provider to provide independent expert technical advice and assistance as required to design, test and commission and oversee the supply, installation, maintenance and monitoring of SCEC/ASIO approved Type 1 security systems and equipment.
