Description

The PSCC within the Attorney-General`s Department coordinates protective security arrangements for Australian Holders of High Office and other dignitaries. The coordination of dignitary protection arrangements embraces three key functions: A. coordinating protective security arrangements nationally for Australian high office holders, including former Governors-General and Prime Ministers, and other Members of Parliament who are assessed to be at risk B. coordinating security arrangements nationally for visiting dignitaries. These dignitaries may include guests of government and parliamentary delegations visiting Australia and C. coordinating protective security arrangements nationally for the diplomatic and consular community. The PSCC coordinates physical security through a combination of measures including risk assessment, electronic surveillance, access control, alarm systems, fencing and lighting. This is underpinned by scheduled program of maintenance work. The PSCC is seeking to procure a range of cost effective protective security in designated areas.
