Wodonga Water Treatment Plant Chemical Upgrade

North East Water (NEW) is seeking to engage a suitably qualified principal contractor to complete the Design and Construction (D&C) of a chemical systems upgrade at the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) located at Huon Hill, Wodonga. This includes Powered Activated Carbon (PAC), aluminium sulphate (alum) and sodium hypochlorite (hypo) storage, transfer, dosing and auxiliary systems.
The PAC facility shall include a new PAC dosing system at the WTP which includes bag loading, transfer conveyor, silo and PAC solution preparation according to NEW’s specifications. The facility is to be enclosed within a new building on the WTP site and allow sufficient space for storage of PAC pallets. The alum and hypo storages are to be located adjacent to the new PAC facility with dosing rooms in a room within the new PAC building.
The contractor will be responsible for all associated works, including but not limited to the following:
1. Detailed Design of PAC facility (including access and building design) and alum/hypo systems.
2. Earthworks, retaining walls, and road works to enable access and installation of new PAC building and hypo/alum storage bunds.
3. Road works and hardstand area for delivery with space for truck turning.
4. New PAC building.
5. Fit out and installation of the PAC facility within the new PAC building (includes storage, transfer, dosing and auxiliary systems).
6. Alum and hypo storage, transfer, dosing and auxiliary systems.
7. Upgrade of existing chemical delivery bund (hypo/alum).
8. Electrical and control works.
9. Service connections including service water and new dosing point.
10. Decommissioning of existing PAC and Alum facilities.
