EDMUND WRIGHT HOUSE FAÇADE CONSERVATION

Registrations of interest are invited from Department for Administrative and Information Services (DAIS) Prequalified General Building Contractors in Category 3, with proven experience in heritage restoration works. The proposed works provide for the façade conservation of Edmund Wright House, 59 King William Street, Adelaide. The building would remain occupied during the works by the South Australian History Trust. The building façade conservation works generally consist of specialist stone consolidation, stabilisation and cleaning, ashlar stone re-pointing and banker masonry, plastering and plaster stabilisation, painting, carpentry and metalwork restoration. Construction is expected to commence in February 2001 with completion by August 2001. The construction time is tight and delivery on time and co-ordination with occupying tenants is essential to success of the project. Registrants shall supply the following information for the basis of assessment of submissions: - details of similar value projects undertaken in the last 3 years with specific reference to performance - details of similar types of projects (conservation and restoration of major historical buildings) successfully (& sensitively undertaken) completed using specialist trades as detailed above. - information on key personnel proposed for the project and their current work commitment. - information on ability to interface with occupied and operational environment. - information on ability to manage subcontractors and complete work on time. - details of current work commitment including scope of work, contract value and anticipated completion. - any other information considered relevant to the project. Tenderers will be selected from a short list drawn from DAIS Prequalified General Building Contractors in Category 3 that respond to this invitation to register their interest. No Registration will necessarily be accepted.
