Consultation and advisory support services to transgender individuals and community relating to the development and implementation of a state LGBTQIA+ Inclusion Strategy

Department of Communities (Communities) has a requirement for the Contractor to provide a representative for the reference group and support the community consultation and engagement to inform the development of the WA LGBTQIA+ Inclusion Strategy (Strategy) and to build capacity across the sector to enable the successful delivery of actions in the accompanying Action Plan. The Contractor will connect with their members to support consultations with the LGBTQIA+ community, service providers, and others in the sector/community as appropriate, and support and promote other methods of inviting feedback across the State to inform the development of the Strategy. This will include collaboration with other organisations and individuals engaged for this project to ensure the widest possible coverage and enable people to have input through a variety of methods most effective for them. The Contractor will continue to provide support in the community following the release of the Strategy to assist the implementation of actions under the Strategy. It is important that transgender people of all ages are provided with a safe and supportive environment for engagement, ensuring they are fully respected and included, addressing their individual needs, and acknowledging the possible trauma that may have impacted their lives.
