Women's Health Community Service in the Peel Region
Details
Description
Women and Newborn Health Service (WNHS) is currently undertaking the procurement of a community based Women's Health Centre service in the Peel region. The focus is on the key locations of Mandurah, Waroona and Murray Shires. The Service Provider may choose to provide a service in one or more of these locations.
These locations have been identified following the Community Women’s Health Stakeholder Group project report, which developed key recommendations for future resource allocation of community-based women’s health service funding.
The service will be tailored to the specific needs of women in the selected area. Service Providers will have knowledge and capacity to respond flexibly to the needs of local clients and the community. The service will address these needs through the provision of targeted programs. These include, but are not limited to, information dissemination; health promotion activities; advocacy; counselling; clinical appointments; therapeutic groups; and crisis intervention. An Unplanned Pregnancy Counselling Program (UPCP) is not required, though should be considered due to the identified lack of services in the area.
