Goulburn Murray Water (GMW) are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified contractor to undertake minor refurbishment and recoating of the Lake Eildon Tower Bulkheads. This it to provide future protection and prolong their usable life. The project scope requires the following activities to be completed:

· Replace the existing protective coating on all 10 bulkheads with a new protective coating.

· Replace the existing rubber P-seals on each bulkhead.

· Examine the condition of the cleaned bulkhead steel after blasting and complete appropriate steel repairs if required prior to recoating.

The existing coating is a coal tar derivative and as such will require full containment during the blast cleaning phase to capture all respirable dust and aerosols.

The successful tenderer will be required to submit a proposal for full containment and decontamination of the bulkheads prior to applying a modern protective coating system. These works are considered to be a Class 6 Activity Area according to the Classes of Activity Areas listed in the PCCP’s PP-D007 document.

As a requirement upon award of this contract, the Contractor must comply with all relevant GMW and Industry recognised OHS Procedures, statutory licensing and/or registration requirements to carry out works in accordance with this Scope of Works.

The contractor will be engaged as a Principal Contractor on a DTF Minor Works Contract. The Minor Works Contract will require securities to be held during the works and during the Defects Liability Period. The Contractor will have sole responsibility for the area awarded to them on GMW land (if they choose to undertake the works onsite), or sole responsibility and liability for the bulkheads during their transit to or from the site if the works are completed offsite.
