Description

Applications are sought from respondents to calculate the cost of unsafe and poor quality health services, with a focus on patient injury.This information will be used as a benchmark to better inform policy and resource allocation decision at national, state and regional levels.

The Commission is anticipating that, where possible, methodologies and indicators will be developed that can be used for future evaluations of the economic impact of safety and quality initiatives in the Australian health care system.

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care is hosted by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing and has offices located in Darlinghurst Sydney.
