Description

In January 2023, ex-Tropical Cyclone Ellie caused destructive and widespread flood damage in the Kimberley region of Western Australia (WA), and severely impacted residents and their communities. Under WA’s Emergency Management (EM) Arrangements, the Department of Communities (Communities) via the Emergency Relief and Support (ERS) directorate is responsible for the coordination and provision of emergency relief and support services during the Response and Recovery phases, following a natural disaster. Communities is responsible for the coordination and delivery of the Community Social Recovery Program within the remit of the Kimberley Floods Recovery, which includes personal support and outreach services. The Healing on Country and Community Engagement support service aims to deliver personal support services to address recovery needs of flood impacted persons within Fitzroy Crossing and surrounding communities. Communities is seeking a suitably experienced Contractor to deliver culturally informed and accessible ‘Practical, Personal Support and Wellbeing Services’ (PPSWS) to support individuals and family, as part of the ‘Return to Home Journey’ in flood impacted communities.
