MASS 992/1/1 Standing Offer Arrangement for the Supply of Static Bedside Commodes and Bath Transfer Benches for Home Use

Offers are invited for entering into a Standing Offer Arrangement for the Supply of Static Bedside Commodes and Bath Transfer Benches for Home Use, for the Medical Aids Subsidy Scheme (MASS), in accordance with the Conditions of this Request for Offer.

A Static Bedside Commode is defined as an item of equipment which is utilised in a bedroom or living room area in lieu of access to the toilet. It is not positioned over the toilet or in the shower. It can take the form of an item which resembles a chair, or can be an over-toilet frame with a bucket or ‘3 in one commode’ with a bucket.

A Bath Transfer Bench is defined as an item of equipment that is utilised in a bathroom to facilitate transfers in or out of bath or shower recess. It is intended to assist in traversing the hob or gap when entering/exiting a bath or shower.

The Standing Offer Arrangement shall be on the account of the Medical Aids Subsidy Scheme (MASS).

MASS provides Static Bedside Commodes and Bath Transfer Benches to eligible clients of all ages, throughout Queensland, with wide ranging disabilities including (but not limited to) stroke, amputations and other neurological and musculo-skeletal conditions. These devices are subsidised primarily for use within the client’s home environment.

The selection of Static Bedside Commodes and Bath Transfer Benches for a client depends on their clinical diagnosis and ability to operate the equipment in their home environment.

This Standing Offer Arrangement shall be for the purchase of basic, efficient and effective Static Bedside Commodes and Bath Transfer Benches and will cater for the majority of Static Bedside Commodes and Bath Transfer Benches subsidised by MASS.

Where necessary, MASS reserves the right to select more then one supplier of an item for each category.

Where MASS reviews a prescriber’s application and considers it necessary, MASS reserves the right to procure Non-Standing Offer Arrangement equipment from any source.

The table below lists the selected product ranges relating to this Request for Tenders and is indicative of the MASS annual usage patterns based on figures for the previous twelve (12) months:
