Description
The Department of Training and Workforce Development (DTWD) provides a range of services to Aboriginal people including workforce development, apprenticeship and traineeship services, career advice and career counselling. The DTWD are also responsible for the purchasing of training products and services that are accessed by Aboriginal people, and the development of policies to increase the participation of Aboriginal employees in training and the workforce. The DTWD develops regional workforce development plans which take into account the needs of Aboriginal people. As such, it is imperative that DTWD employees have a very good understanding of Aboriginal culture and the impact policies and programs will have on their communities. Specified areas within the DTWD are required to have in-depth knowledge and understanding in order to ensure that the DTWD effectively engages, collaborates and consults with Aboriginal people in workforce development and training initiatives. DTWD has a requirement for the successful Respondent to provide Aboriginal cultural awareness training services to its employees.
