Description
The Department of Sport and Recreation (DSR) is seeking a suitably qualified consultant to undertake a Statewide consultation process to review the current needs of, and barriers faced by, talented regional athletes and investigate the required programs and services to assist their transition along the high performance pathway.
The review will comprise of 15 sports and include a number of stakeholders in an effort to best provide information to DSR on how to support regionally based talented athletes.
The project objective is to:
• identify the needs and barriers that talented regional athletes face in their pursuit of state and national representation from their home environment;
• determine the effectiveness and relevance of the current strategies identified under IMT 5.1.1.3 Facilitate Solutions for Regional Talent Development in addressing these barriers; and
• develop revised strategies to address these needs and barriers and achieve regional talent development outcomes.
