Mardie Minerals Pty Ltd
MARDIE SALT & POTASH PROJECT - Construction of Ponds 6 and 7 Civil works
Details
Description
BCI Minerals (BCI) continues to progress its 100% owned Mardie Salt & Potash Project - a future Tier 1 solar evaporation project that will be a sustainable supplier of salt and potash for decades to come.
The Project represents a rare, sustainable opportunity to develop a large-scale, multi-generational solar evaporation operation on the Pilbara coast of Western Australia (WA).
Mardie is on track to become the first new solar salt operation in WA in over 25 years. Seawater will be concentrated through solar and wind evaporation to sustainably produce over 5 million tonnes of high-purity sodium chloride salt and 140 thousand tonnes of sulphate of potash (SOP) fertiliser a year.
A purpose-built port facility at the Mardie site will directly supply the growing chemical and agricultural industries with salt and SOP for generations to come, with applications across multiple manufacturing processes including renewable energy.
Local and Indigenous participation:
In line with the Company's commitment to supporting local Western Australian communities, BCI is committed to local and indigenous engagement according to the Project's approved Australian Industry Participation plan (summary publicly available).
