Construction of Asphalt Seal Pathway to Ancient Empire Walk Trail
Details
Description
The Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk is an internationally recognised major tourist attraction and an important recreational asset for the region, attracting approximately 140,000 visitors per year. The site consists of a 600m suspended Tree Top Walk which is universally accessible, and a 600m ground walk known as the Ancient Empire which is partially universally accessible.
The upgraded universal access loop of the Ancient Empire will deliver an extension to the existing Ancient Empire walk, providing access for people with restricted mobility to lower sections of the trail and iconic tingle trees, including a new return path towards the main centre. The project will deliver an additional ~308 metres of path, resulting in a total length of unassisted mobility access to 1118 metres.
