Description

The Western Australia Country Health Service (WACHS) is seeking to appoint a suitable Contractor for the delivery of the Better Medical Care for Rural WA Initiative (BMCI) within regional WA.

The purpose of the BMCI is to plan and deliver strategies to maintain sufficient appropriately skilled and experienced Medical Practitioners (MPs) in all seven (7) WACHS regions as follows:

    1. Kimberley;

    2. Pilbara;

    3. Midwest;

    4. Wheatbelt;

    5. Goldfields;

    6. South West; and

    7. Great Southern.

      Services to be delivered will support MPs to become equipped with the skills and knowledge to provide high quality and safe patient care in rural WA according to local demands. Over time, this service aims to reduce the high turnover of MPs in rural Western Australia (WA).

      It is expected that the BMCI service will ensure equitable and proportional allocation of services with geographical health service catchment areas.
