Provision of Microsoft Office Integration with SharePoint 2010

A.1.1.The successful implementation of a new solution for digital document management requires familiar interfaces within the common desktop applications used by FWO staff for documents. It will not be sufficient to only provide access to DocBank through the web-based SharePoint document library interface.

A.1.2.The solution being sought by this tender will address that usability – to provide improved integration between the desktop and Office applications and SharePoint, than what is provided 'out of the box' by SharePoint.

A.1.3.Market research has established that many of the SharePoint Office integration products provide useful additional functionality. As such, the requirements below represent a wishlist of SharePoint functionality addons, and it is not expected that one vendor can deliver all elements. The tender evaluation will consider the most cost-effective solution for FWO, having regard to how many and how well each of the requirements are satisfied.

A.1.4.Tenderers should quote for the provision of support services to work with FWO in the design, implementation and deployment of their solution. Please identify the extent of support provided as part of the original purchase, as well as for additional services that may be required to ensure a successful implementation.
