Description
South Australia Police responds to and manages incidents of public disorder which can range from an affray (fight) through to a violent riot. When public disorder incidents escalate to hostile (and beyond) SAPOL officers are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as a means of protecting themselves.
The Public Order Management (POM) equipment consists of upper arm guards, forearm guards, thigh guards, groin guard, knee guards, shin guards, foot guards, helmets, shields, batons, and gas masks.
SAPOL is seeking to replace its POM equipment. Up to 500 sets of each equipment are required.
