Main Roads is intending to deliver the Gateway WA project using an alliance contract.
The project includes the design and construction of various interchanges and the upgrades of Tonkin Highway between Great Eastern Highway and Roe Highway, and Leach Highway between the Airport and Orrong Road. The project may also include other interchanges and works on roads within the vicinity of the Perth Airport and Kewdale Freight Precinct. The core package of works is estimated at between $450M and $550M.
Pre Qualification: Tenderers must be qualified with Main Roads for Road Category R5 and Bridge Category B4.
Preference in the selection process will be given to Proponents whom include R3 and/or R4 prequalified contractors in their consortium.
It is expected that Request for Proposals (RFP) documents will be available for distribution to registered organisations only on 8 February 2012 at the Briefing session.
RFP Briefing: A NON-MANDATORY industry briefing (incorporating issue of RFP Documents) will be held on Wednesday 8 February 2012 at 9.00am for a 9.30am start at the City of Belmont Civic Centre, 215 Wright Street, Cloverdale (entrance opposite Belmont forum Shopping centre).
Organisations considering tendering for these works are requested to register their interest by contacting Paris Treeby on 9323 4406. Main Roads would prefer that registration occur by COB 6 February, however registration forms will be available at the briefing.
Organisations are also requested to provide details of attendees for the briefing to Paris by COB 6 February 2012.
“The National Code of Practice for the Construction Industry, in conjunction with the Australian Government Implementation Guidelines, August 2009 applies to this project.”
“It is a requirement of this project that any persons contracted to undertake the building work be accredited under the Australian Government Building and Construction OHS Accreditation Scheme established by the Building and Construction Industry Improvement Act 2005, at the time of the RFP closing for the building work and while the building work is being carried out
