Description
The City of currently consists of two branch libraries (located in the Civic Centre and Whyalla Stuart), and a Homebound Library Service.
The Whyalla Library plans to re-locate into new premises in order to maximise resources and service delivery. A Local and Family History area will be integrated within this library, and Homebound Library Services will operate from this library.
In 2005 the owners of the and the Whyalla City Council began discussing a proposal to incorporate a library into the shopping centre.
In 2006 Elected Members will make a decision on whether to redevelop and relocate the Whyalla Library into the Westland Shopping Centre.
This final decision will enable the library service to be fully redeveloped.
