WA Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries
Helpline Service for Gambling Related Issues
Details
Description
The Customer, on behalf of the Commission requires a 24/7 phone helpline that provides (toll-free), confidential phone counselling and referrals to individuals impacted by gambling harm (Helpline). The Helpline Service should be available to all Western Australian residents, including those from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, ATSI communities, and those with disabilities.
The single 1800 gambling helpline allows people to seek immediate help through a counsellor in each State or Territory by ringing the number from anywhere in the country. This Helpline Customer Contract is limited to calls originating from Western Australia and any referrals from the BetStop call center. For the avoidance of doubt, face to face counselling cannot be provided through this Customer Contract, and the Contractor will need to refer relevant Target Callers to the Customer’s approved Referral Agency which provides face to face counselling services.
