Description

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) administers a section 40 authorisation under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 (WA) (BC Act) to take or disturb Typhonium sp. Kununurra within the Knox Development area located north-east of Kununurra in the East Kimberley (s40 authorisation). DPIRD is implementing an approved Offset Strategy in accordance with the s40 authorisation, including a process to confirm the adequacy of a proposed Offset Conservation Area direct land acquisition offset. DPIRD is establishing the habitat suitability of various land parcels that have potential to provide conservation outcomes for Typhonium sp. Kununurra and other priority species.

DPIRD requires environmental consultancy services to assist:

(a) implement and review the Knox development Offset Strategy for Typhonium sp. Kununurra (July 2023) (Offset Strategy) for the threatened flora species Typhonium sp. Kununurra, including data analysis, modelling, mapping, and advisory services.

(b) data analysis, modelling, mapping, and advisory services for the threatened flora species Typhonium sp. Kununurra and other priority flora species as required to support the Ord Expansion Project to balance development and conservation outcome associated with land development.
