Mount Barker District Council
Martindale, Dalmeny, Waterford Pumping Station
Details
Description
BACKGROUND
Dalmeny Park estate is a new development within the District Council of Mount Barker, located approximately 30km east of the Adelaide CBD. The etate and the adjacent Martindale and Waterford estates are to include a dual water supply system encompassing a potable reticulated water network and a high quality non-potable water network supplied from the Mount Barker wastewater treatment plant. The effluent undergoes primary and secondary treatment via an aerated facultative lagoon before passing through a dissolved air flotation plant and a continuous micro filtration plant. Final polishing of the water is achieved in the Council owned Laratinga Wetlands.
The Council is now in the process of establishing a reticulation network for the high quality non-potable water. As part of this distribution network a storage tank has been constructed on the top of a hill in the vicinity of Paris Court. This tank will supply high quality non-potable water to the development via gravity.
In order to supply the tank a pumping station is required adjacent to Bald Hills Road. The pumping station will act as an in-line booster pump and will convey the high quality non-potable water arriving from Laratinga Wetland to the tank at Paris Court via a rising main.
