Peaks Crossing State School Block C refurbishment

The Department of Education is calling for submissions for the design and construct of a refurbishment for Block C, located at Peaks Crossing State School. The base design documents have been provided within the tender and nominate the intent of the refurbishment works is to refresh and modernise Block C and to get more teaching areas out of the existing layout of the building.

The Functional Requirements of the refurbishment are as follows:
• Remove internal walls (where nominated) and external lourvres and infill with materials as documented.
• Remove the existing fans and lighting and replace with new.
• Paint the internal walls and ceiling and ceiling trusses and doors and external paint to Block C.
• Installation of new joinery teaching walls.
• Remove existing vinyl and carpet flooring and prepare the floor.
• Cap existing water services and relocate the water to new location.
• Remove old external awnings and make good area.
• New carpet tile flooring, window blinds and door hardware.
• Do not paint over or work on the aboriginal art Muriel, as this is culturally sensitive and must remain untouched.
• Assist the school is removing boxes of packed items from the classrooms into a storage container (supplied by builder).
• Assist the school in putting furniture and boxes back into the new refurbishment.
It is anticipated that the refurbishment works will not trigger any external approvals as they are superficial. The Design and Construct tender is expoused to allow flexibility in the works.
