Description
The PTA wishes to undertake a rolling stock fire-performance assessment to demonstrate the adequate completion of fire safety risk treatment of PTA’s passenger rolling stock fleets. The overarching goals of this investigation are to; Determine the level of fire-related risk in PTA’s current operation, and whether current train operations are safe so far as is reasonably practicable (SFARP), with respect to fire safety, in order to demonstrate the PTA satisfies its obligations under rail safety national law (RSNL). Identify any inadequately treated risks, and appropriate treatment action plans, to ensure that PTA’s operations are safe so far as is reasonably practicable. This investigation is limited to the Prospector/Avonlink, A-Series, & B-Series fleets. The newly delivered C-Series, and other PTA rail vehicles do not form part of the project scope.
