Description
The purpose of this contract is to engage the services of a suitably qualified professional contractor to undertake a study of, and report on, a range of issues associated with the current feasibility assessment process for the possible establishment of a new hardrock quarry in the Muntalunga Range area to the south of Townsville or elsewhere in the Townsville region. The scope of this contract includes:
• developing forecasts and predictions on the supply and demand of hardrock quarry material based on forecast population growth, infrastructure developments and historical quarry material use in the Townsville region;
• estimating current hardrock quarry resources and timeframes for new resource requirements;
• assessment and comparison of town planning, environmental and development requirements for quarry sites;
• assessment and comparison of the costs and benefits for a number of potential hardrock quarry sites; and
• recommendations for planning or zoning requirements to secure a quarry site for future utilisation.
