The Queensland Government is seeking proposals for the construction of the base building works for the Anzac Legacy Gallery Project.
THe ANZAC Legacy Gallery is a fully internal gallery within Level 1 of the Queensland Museum building which will house Mephisto (German A7V Sturmpanzerwagen tank – significant war artefact). Structural investigations have confirmed that Mephisto re-instatement will be via the existing QM main entry.
Base building works for the ALG (internal gallery) includes:
- Building works i.e. demolition, hoarding installation, new floor, wall, doors and ceiling finishes, painting,
- services upgrades including electrical (power, data, installation of floor boxes, new track lighting), mechanical, communications and data, fire and hydraulics and acoustic treatment.
Base building works for Mephisto re-instatement include:
- Construction of temporary steel bridge for Mephisto re-instatement, façade modifications including removal of existing glazing and framing and re-instatement, removal of travertine tiles and bedding slab, replace travertine tiles in QM’s main entry foyer, secure Mephisto.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
Arts Queensland has obtained a list of Eligible Contractors which are registered as Pre-Qualified Contractors for the project with a PQC Rating of 3 or 4 on the Department of Housing and Public Works PQC database.
The Eligible list was based on a number of factors including estimated value, location of the contractor and other variables.
It shall be mandatory that tenderers are listed on the Eligible List. To determine if your organisation is on the Eligible List email your company’s ABN to the Principal Contact Officer using email address listed in item 15 ‘Principal’s Contact Officer’.
The Principal will assess tenders to ensure they conform to the following mandatory requirements:
- Representation by the Tenderer at the Mandatory Industry Briefing (MIB)
- The tenderer’s key personnel must hold suitable licenses for the scope of work
- Must be suitably registered on the PQC System as a ‘Contractor’ with a minimum PQC rating of 3.
- Must appear on the ‘Eligible List’ which was developed by Arts Queensland.
The Principal reserves the right at its sole discretion to schedule an additional site inspection or inspections but this is subject the Principal’s determination that there is a sound reason to do so. For further information refer to ITO SPecification & General Information, Item 6, 6.1.
MANDATORY INDUSTRY BRIEFING: A Mandatory Industry Briefing and Site Inspection will take place on Wednesday 1 November 2017at 8.30am at the Level 1 Sciencentre, Queensland Museum. Access to the QM building is via the security desk at the rear of the building (access via the shared service yard entry on the corner of Grey Street and Peel Streets, Stanley Place – note that as the Sciencentre will be open to the public from 9.30am it is suggested that your arrive by 8:20am to allow sufficient time for sign-in. For further information refer to ITO Specification & General Information, Item 5.
CLOSING DATE AND TIME: The closing date and time for AQ 012/2018 is STRICTLY 2:00 PM 21 NOVEMBER 2017.
