Description

The Public Transport Authority of Western Australia (PTA) plans an extension of the Joondalup Line from its current end at Clarkson to a point approximately 7km north in the new Suburb of Butler. (Refer locality plan included with Consultant’s Brief at Schedule 2).

The majority of the proposed route between the existing Clarkson Station and the proposed Butler Station will run within the Mitchell Freeway reserve. The final 2.3km section of the route leaves the Mitchell Freeway Reservation, north of Lukin Drive, and passes through the suburb of Butler to the proposed Butler Station to the north of the future Butler Boulevard. In this section there are three road crossings over the railway, at Landbeach Boulevard, Benenden Avenue and Butler Boulevard.

PTA intends to construct these bridges in advance of the rail works. To facilitate this, PTA wishes to engage a consultant to carry out the design of the bridges and prepare documentation to enable calling of Tenders and awarding a contract for their construction.
