Overview

PROJECT DESCRIPTION


Fraser Coast Council is partnering with the Australian Government to develop a world class city centre in Hervey Bay. The backbone will be a new regional library building and Council administration centre on the corner of Main Street and Torquay Road in Pialba.


More than three quarters of the development will be community space. This will be a community hub where people can come together to learn, to socialise and to benefit from centralised Council services.


It will also include a Disaster Resilience Centre for disaster planning, education, training and responses.


The Hervey Bay Library & Administration Centre (incorporating a Disaster Resilience Centre) project includes the following general scope of works.


  • Demolition of existing buildings and carpark, in addition to site clearing.
  • Services realignment.
  • Earthworks, including site remediation and general cut to fill level creation.
  • The construction and fit-out of the building including:
  1. Basement parking
  2. Regional Library
  3. Customer service centre
  4. Disaster resilience centre
  5. Council chambers
  6. Administration offices
  7. Cafe / Flexible Space tenancy
  • Associated and supporting building engineering services infrastructure.
  • A landscaping and public realm scheme for the site including soft and hard landscaping, external lighting, external features, and wayfinding signage.
  • Internal wayfinding and signage inclusive of indigenous components.


STAGE 2 - DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION

Hansen Yuncken have been awarded Stage 2 for the Design and Construction after working with Fraser Coast City Council and the Consultant Team through an Early Contractor Involvement Role. Procurement for Stage 2 is now underway with Expressions of Interest available through the ICN gateway. Some packages now being finalised following a previous EOI and pricing process. Hansen Yuncken encourages local industry interested in supplying to the project to register an expression of interest (EOI) through the ICN Gateway webpage.

Information on specific supply opportunities will be communicated on the ICN Gateway project page as it becomes available, with local industry able to register its interest against them.

Please ensure that:

  • Your company profile on the ICN Gateway is complete, up-to-date, and accurate including electing to be notified via e-mail of supply opportunities.
  • You register your interest as a full or partial scope supplier (where applicable), and
  • You respond to all project and work package-specific questions applicable.
  • It is important that businesses submitting an EOI are aware that their submission does not guarantee that they will progress further in the procurement process. Only companies that can demonstrate capability and capacity in accordance with Hansen Yuncken's standards will be invited to pre-qualify for specific opportunities.
