Description

The Territory Radio Network (TRN) is a Territory owned radio network managed by the ESA and is operationally part of the NSW Government Radio Network (GRN).

The GRN is a NSW Government owned radio network managed by the NSW Telco Authority (TA). The GRN is an authorizing point for all radio communication within NSW and the ACT and provides security, redundancy and interoperability between NSW and the ACT.


The TRN consists of UHF digital trunked radio base stations, standalone UHF analogue and digital conventional repeaters, IP microwave network and fibre backhaul links with core network services provided by the NSW TA.


The objective of the project is to:


a) Support ESA business operations, plan and targets;
b) minimise the total unit cost to ESA of operating and maintaining the TRN over the term of the Agreement;
c) reduce and make manageable the ESA business risk associated with the use of the Services;
d) ensure that suitably qualified and experienced personnel manage the service and maintenance of equipment;
e) provide flexibility to ESA enabling prompt response at best practice cost levels to future changes or advancements in technology and business circumstances;
f) achieve the best possible services; and
g) minimises any adverse impact of the services to ESA in the conduct of its business.
