Specialised Environmental Consultancy Services for Wellard Village Primary School

The Department of Education (the Department) requires the provision of ongoing environmental consultancy services to address the remainer of the 28 conditions stipulated by the Federal Government’s approval to clear the protected Tuart Woodlands on the Wellard Village Primary School site in 2020. The Department builds on average three (3) new public schools per year across the State of Western Australia (WA) in response to growing populations and shifting demographics. There is an increased complexity of the land development process, especially in the environmental approval space which has resulted in the need to engage Specialised Consultancy Services within the environmental industry for long term assignments. When deciding on the land to build schools, the Department is accountable to ensure that the Australian Federal Government’s environmental legislation, The Environmental Protection and biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) is adhered to. The Department’s adherence to the EPBC Act informs and ensures the Department protects and manages unique plants and animals (significant biodiversity) on potential school sites.
