Provision of Respiratory Protective Equipment

The Department of Justice (the Department) responds to numerous cell fire incidents across all correctional facilities. In 2023, the Department introduced a Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) system to provide protection for prison officers against hazardous gasses during initial response to cell fires. This system consists of a full-face respirator equipped with a filter canister. Since the implementation of this RPE system, it has been identified that there is a need for complimentary RPE that provide adequate seal and protection to officers with unique facial features, culturally appropriate hair style and significant facial hair growth. The Department is seeking a qualified Contractor for the supply and delivery of an effective Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) to complement the existing in-service RPE system used during the initial response to cell fires in correctional facilities.
