Wangaratta Phillipson Street - CWS No.2 - Remediation

This Request for Tender (RfT) seeks to engage a Principal Contractor to deliver the detailed design and construction of the lining of the Phillipson St No 2 Clear Water Storage Concrete Tank Wangaratta, Victoria.
Salu Structural Engineering Pty Ltd (SSE) has completed a comprehensive repair scope assessment and prepared Technical Specification for structural repair works to the internal surface of a 15ML reinforced concrete reservoir
The findings of that assessment were that the wall had prematurely deteriorated due to poor construction practices. The investigation also determined that structural deterioration was still at an early stage and was limited in extent. SSE recommended that remedial works could be undertaken to repair the damage and extend the life of the reservoir at least to its original 40-60 year design life.
Repairs have been broken down into 3 components Type A, B, and C repairs. The definition of each repair is:
• Type A. Stabilisation of existing corroded reinforcing - 16.5 sq.m – 40mm thick Renderoc HB40
• Type B. Restoration of cover thickness where less than originally specified - 144 sq.m - 40mm thick Renderoc G
• Type C. Reduction to concrete permeability to counter the potential effects of poor compaction - 890 sq.m - 10mm thick Renderoc G
It should be noted Type A repairs are all located immediately above the floor, Type B from the floor to 1.5m in height, Type C over the remainder of entire wall which is 7.5m in height and has a total circumference of 141m. Type B treatments must be coated on Type A treatments.
The scope of works includes final approvals and the supply of all materials, construction, installation, testing and commissioning of the remediation repairs.
