Services of a Station and Buildings Manager for the Forrestfield-Airport Link

The Forrestfield-Airport Link (FAL) will provide improved public transport access in the surrounding area, including local residents, as well as for airport passengers and staff working at the airport. The FAL proposes an 8.5km dual track, spur rail line from the Bayswater Station/Midland line through to the eastern suburb of Forrestfield. Its alignment will generally follow along Tonkin Highway and then deviate towards Perth Airport where it will run beneath the airport surfacing to the east. The underground sections of the rail line will run in twin bored tunnels.

The Stations and Buildings Manager is a key member of the project FAL management team and will be responsible for managing the overall design development, delivery and commissioning into service of the three stations proposed for the Forrestfield-Airport Link Project, namely:

• Airport West Station
• Consolidated Airport Station
• Forrestfield Station

The Stations and Buildings Manager will also provide a similar service for the design, delivery and commissioning of any ad-hoc buildings required on the project e.g. tunnel evacuation shaft enclosures.

The Public Transport Authority (PTA) requires this position to be filled by an individual possessing relevant professional and technical background in project management, architecture and/or building construction. The Stations and Buildings Manager will be required to provide all of the services listed below. During the construction stage of the project, the PTA may exercise an option to procure other personnel through this contract to provide superintendent’s representative services to support the FAL stations delivery team.
