Provision of executive officer services for the Marine Scalefish Fishery Management Committee

Executive officer services provide support to the Chairperson of the Marine Scalefish Fishery Management Committee (FMC) and committee members including; facilitating and/or participating in sub-committee activities or working groups; researching and preparing reports, notes and briefing papers; developing policy options in collaboration with relevant stakeholder groups and drafting responses to correspondence relating to the business of the FMC. The Marine Scalefish FMC is a complex fishery involving a wide range of fish species, over 440 licence holders operating across the State and a significant recreational participation. The commercial fishery generates over $20 million in gross production per annum and contributes significantly to regional fishing communities. The executive officer role will ensure that FMC business is facilitated in a timely manner and will contribute to informed advice to the Minister.
