Description

The Department for Child Protection (DCP) aims to return children and young people to the care of their birth family, when it is safe and in the child’s best interests to do so. DCP supports families to make the changes necessary for their children and young people to return safely and permanently to their care. Family Reunification is used to describe the planned process of returning a child home to parent/s after a period in care.

DCP is committed to ensuring young people are connected to country, language and community and supports Aboriginal family led decision making and adherence to the Aboriginal Child Placement Principles to ensure the delivery of culturally safe and responsive family reunification services.

DCP is seeking multiple providers of Family Reunification Services to deliver high quality, therapeutically-oriented, and culturally responsive interventions that improve parenting capacity and family functioning to safe levels, so that children and young people can be reunified safely and permanently with their families.

A Tender Briefing was held on Thursday 26 November 2020, the presentation, along with the Q&A asked during the session is available to download.
