Buckland Military Training Area and Fort Direction Camp – General Works

Description
Regrade of gravel roads, remediation of Lead Contamination at Firing Range and implementation of Fire Management Plan.
Works at Fort Direction Camp include (but are not limited to):
- Provision of a new gravelled car park area, regrade gravel driveway and repair & top up gravel road (150m long approximate); and
- Retrofit all openings and aperture of six buildings to achieve the required ember protection level.
Works at Buckland Military Training Area include (but are not limited to):
- Regrade the existing gravel road, reshape and regrade the existing open drainage channels, clean out existing culvert crossings; and weed, grass and vegetation control (3.5Km approximate);
- Excavation and the mechanical separation of stop butts at the Buckland Firing Range, disposal of Class 3 contaminated soil and replacement with a clean fill and reinstate turf surface; and
- Fire Management Plan implementation works which involves slashing/ploughing of fire break areas and weed management for a distance of approximately 12km. Provide a 6m wide fire break for an approximate distance of 20km.
