Description

This Request for Tender is to undertake an assessment of water and sewerage assets that are currently operated and managed by local government and the bulk water authorities in Tasmania. For the purposes of the assessment, water is defined as urban and regional reticulated (treated and untreated) water for residential and commercial use. Also, any references to sewerage includes wastewater. Although important issues for future consideration, the assessment does not extend to water used for irrigation or for electricity generation. The central purpose of the assessment is to provide the Government with a firmer understanding of the current status of assets, the extent to which they are meeting community needs, and the future investment requirements for water and sewerage infrastructure in the State. The assessment will provide information for determining future structural, regulatory and other institutional arrangements for the water and sewerage sector in Tasmania and inform future planning decisions.
