Description

King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) is Western Australia’s (WA) public tertiary maternity, neonatal and gynaecological hospital. As the State’s largest maternity hospital and only referral centre for complex pregnancies, KEMH oversees over 6,000 births each year and provides clinical expertise to WA’s most unwell expectant mothers and babies with a state-of-the-art 100 bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. KEMH also sees 5000 women for gynaecological conditions each year, including urological and cancer related issues. KEMH continues to deliver first class care to women and infants across WA.

The existing lift (AWH Lift No1) installation consists of a single overhead traction passenger lift installed within a duplex lift shaft.

The scope of work includes the removal of existing redundant lift services materials items currently installed in the empty lift shaft adjacent to the existing operational lift and to provide one new machineroomless traction lift (to be known as AWH Lift No 2)

The scope includes the removal and disposal of the existing lift equipment, located within the spare lift shaft; all equipment associated with the existing operational lift is to remain unless specifically stated within this specification.

Design, manufacture, supply, transport to the point of installation, erect, install, commission, test and hand over in working order, the completed installation of one new lift, installed within the spare lift shaft, together with subsequent servicing and maintenance for the stipulated period 12 months in full compliance with EN 81-1 including full compliance with unrestricted commercial use requirements of the Building Code of Australia and WorkSafe Western Australia.
