Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority
Activity Based Funding Conference 2023
Details
Description
IHACPA is an independent government agency established by the Commonwealth as part of the National Health Reform Act 2011. IHACPA was established to contribute to reforms to improve Australian public hospitals and aged care. A major component of these reforms is the implementation of Activity Based Funding (ABF). The annual Activity Based Funding Conference provides IHACPA with the opportunity to deliver education on its work to stakeholders and the general public. IHACPA requires the services of a conference organiser for the planning and management of the Activity Based Funding Conference 2023 (ABF23) to be held in Brisbane in August 2023. It is anticipated there will be between 500-750 in-person delegates and up to 2000 virtual delegates attending, although the successful tenderer should have the capacity to handle an increase from the estimated delegate numbers. The event format includes one day of pre-conference workshops and two conference days. The conference days will comprise keynote, plenary and concurrent speaker sessions, as well as up to two panel sessions. Historically, up to two social events have been included in the program, for which the successful tenderer will also be responsible. IHACPA has conducted successful ABF conferences from 2012 – 2022 in Australia. The conference attracts around 500 in person delegates and 2000 virtual delegates with workshop attendance numbers between 200-250 delegates. The objective of this project is to engage a conference organiser who will, in consultation with IHACPA and the scientific conference committee, coordinate the conference.
