Description
The Department of Health ('Department') engaged Mercer to perform actuarial services for 'WA Health' for leave parameters, turnover and usage analysis and the evaluation of casual long service leave liability. The Department sought and obtained exemption from the Department of Finance in March 2025 to engage Mercer who were, at that time, not on the new Common Use Arrangement for Audit and Financial Advisory Services (CUAAFA2024). (Note: Mercer have since rejoined the CUA). The exemption was granted on the basis of: The unique level of knowledge that Mercer possessed of Health’s requirements and systems, and the risks and delays that would be anticipated to arise from onboarding an alternative CUA contractor The urgency of having the actuarial services completed to enable WA Health to meet critical upcoming timelines and milestones
