Passenger Rail Transport Planning - Lead Design Consultant

The PTA is undertaking Passenger Rail Transport Planning (?the Project?) to establish a long-term strategic program for the growth of Perth?s metropolitan passenger network to meet the public transport needs of our growing city. The intent of this work is to inform a position around future public transport corridors, which will then be priorities for further investigation with the ultimate aim of reservation in region schemes to reduce risk, capital cost and uncertainty in long term rail expansion projects. We will be seeking to explore a range of possible transport and land use futures for the whole of the Perth and Peel metropolitan area (hereafter referred to as ?Perth?). The Contractor is expected to have a good understanding of the development of Perth?s public transport system over the past 30 years and the related land use and social outcomes. However, the Contractor must explore alternative scenarios for Perth?s future with an understanding that the way our public transport services have been delivered in the past may not be the best for its future. The PTA propose to collaborate with the Contractor?s project team by providing internal resources in the following disciplines: Railway engineering / track engineering;Environmental planning; andLand use planning (strategic and statutory planners).Strategic demand modelling of the reference case and options (DoT STEM team)
